Hello Beautiful Souls,
This month, we’re exploring the word Regulate. Not in the sense of controlling every emotion or managing every part of life perfectly, but in the softer sense, the kind of regulation that helps us return to ourselves when life feels noisy, overwhelming, or too full.
The June issue of The Space Between arrived this morning in your inbox, and before you dive into all the pages, I’d like to invite you to begin with the quiz.
The quiz isn’t about getting a right answer. It’s simply a gentle way of noticing what your mind, body, and spirit may be needing most right now.
You may discover that you’re longing for:
Gentle Rhythms
Sensory Comfort & Body Care
Spiritual Grounding
Returning to Yourself
Once you’ve taken the quiz, let it guide your next step. Follow the path that speaks to you first.
There is no need to read the entire issue at once.
In fact, I hope you don’t.
The Space Between is meant to be lived with throughout the month, returning to it whenever you need a soft place to land.
A Simple Way to Move Through This Month’s Issue
Week One
Take the quiz and spend time with the devotional, The Holy Work of Rest.
Let Elijah remind you that God often sends rest before instruction.
Week Two
Explore the body and skincare pages.
Notice what helps your nervous system soften and what small comforts help you feel grounded.
Week Three
Spend time with the Guilt Dump and journaling pages.
Release what you’ve been carrying and listen for what your heart may be asking for.
Week Four
Return to the Gentle Truths for the Sensitive Giver and the closing prayer.
Read them slowly.
Let them become reminders you carry into the next month.
Come see me this weekend at Valley Park
This week I’m making moisturizers and lip balms and getting ready for this weekend. If you can’t come and see me, you can always order from my website or from me directly, I can also meet people near my house or therapy.
Scripture for This Week
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
— Psalm 46:10
This verse is often read as an instruction to become quiet, but perhaps it is also an invitation. An invitation to stop striving for a moment, to loosen your grip on everything you’re trying to hold together, to remember that God’s presence does not depend on your productivity. Sometimes stillness is not something we achieve. Sometimes it is something we receive.
A Small Practice for This Week
Sometime today, place a hand over your heart and take one slow breath.
Notice where your shoulders are.
Notice your jaw.
Notice what you’re carrying.
You don’t need to fix anything.
Just notice.
Then ask yourself:
What helps me feel more like myself?
Until Next Time
Regulation isn’t about becoming perfectly calm. It’s about learning how to return to yourself with gentleness when life feels too loud.
One small return at a time.
With gentleness,
Carrie

Finally, a Self-Care Plan That Actually Fits Your Life. Because “Just Take a Bath” isn’t a strategy.
As a special needs mom, your “to-do” list isn’t just long—it’s heavy. Between IEP meetings, therapy schedules, sensory meltdowns, and the constant mental load, your own well-being usually ends up at the very bottom of the pile.
You’re tired of generic self-care advice that feels like another chore. You don’t need more fluff; you need a battle plan. Introducing: Hold the Guilt, Pass the Coffee: A Self-Care Strategy Journal for Special Needs Moms
This printable journal is designed to help you reclaim your sanity in 10 minutes or less. It’s a structured, no-nonsense system to help you regulate your nervous system, protect your energy, and—most importantly—drop the guilt.
