Listening on Paper: Journaling with God

A gentle workshop on hearing and recording what God speaks to your heart.

Hello friends,

This post was inspired by one of my favorite books - The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence. You can read it at the link above. I know I need to write things down in order to remember them. I wanted to create a system for myself and thought you might like one too. I’m working on a project that’s more involved, sort of like a retreat at home. It would be very cool to do one in person though.

There’s a sacred stillness that comes when we meet God on the page — not to analyze or perform, but to simply listen.

This practice is more than journaling about Scripture or listing prayers. It’s about quieting your thoughts, opening your heart, and recording the whispers of God’s Spirit as they come.

Your journal becomes a sacred space — a place of conversation, reflection, and remembrance.
